I got sips of wine from the table starting in second grade after my first communion. Dad have me a spoonful at our celebration dinner and I LOVED it. It was just a spoonful or two at a time until I was 12 I think, then I got to take sips. I think I was 14-15 when I had my first glass. It took the mystery/excitement out of alcohol so I learned to drink responsibly from a young age.

By law, he can claim religion for it as long as they’re not drunk. I’ve done some research & tbh it’s a cultural & religious thing. They may not do it in the states, but he can in a different country or claiming religion. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The US has some of the worlds strictest laws when it comes to drinking, & our drunk driving rates & jail rates for underage drinking are ridiculous. Might help if they stop being so strict.

I believe in Germany the legal age is 16 and parents often teach their kids how to drink responsibly. Due to this, I've heard they have less law issues in regards to people acting foolish/messing things up.

14 is definitely old enough for a bit of beer or wine and i imagine it would be hard to tell rhe 11 year old that he cant have any while everyone else can. Would i let my 14 year old have a beer or wine? Sure. 11 year old? Idk probably not if i can help it. But not that big of a deal imo.
