Did your fiancé/husband ask your parents (or parent) before proposing??

My husband asked my parents for their blessing and my hand in marriage. Both said no. He proposed anyway, I said “YES!” We just celebrated our 7 year anniversary, we have a beautiful little boy and hoping to grow our family some more. My parents love him now, my dad actually apologized to him for the way he had reacted. He’s such an amazing man to loves to make us happy.

I wouldn’t have said yes unless he asked my dad first, which he did. We are really traditional though

I was very clear he had to ask my father or I  couldn’t accept . My father is very traditional and its important to him .

I think it’s kinda gross to have to “ask the father”. I’m the one deciding to live my life with someone... my father isn’t giving any rights over or anything. So my SO and I will not be asking anyone other then each other. That’s just my feelings on the matter

I don’t understand this tradition and I think both my dad and I would be confused if my SO asked him for “permission” first 😂 my dad would be like “okay, propose to her..? It’s not my choice” 
They may have a conversation about it at some point, I don’t really know

I pray whoever I end up marrying one day asks my dad’s permission. My dad and I are really close and I’ve always considered myself an old soul so I LOVE traditions.

I put yes because he had a chat with my dad...but he didnt really ask. He more told him "im going to marry your daughtor and want to make sure youre on board" type of thing.... Then showed him the ring. Theyre so close now:) my dads so proud of him and treats him like another son. ❤
