Advice needed: Moms who have gotten induced because of hypertension/preeclampsia

Karena

I'm set to be induced at 39 weeks because my doc doesn't want me to get preeclampsia since I have chronic hypertension. After reading about the invasive induction methods, the length of time you'll most likely spend in labor and how likely it is to end up with a C-section anyway, I'm wondering if I should just elect a C-section or should I just get induced and hope for the best? Please share your experience if you've been through this! Maybe I'm just being paranoid about the induction, but getting membranes stripped, Foley bulbs, and being bed-ridden when on pitocin does not sound fun, especially since it is more likely (higher statistics) I'll end up with a C-section because of my hypertension.
