Boyfriends mother 😭

So, my boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years and we can’t financially afford our own place at the moment because we are in our last year of college.

With that being said, we both stay at each others houses(we live with our parents)

He is an only child and his mother is OVER POWERING. She wants to control his whole life and be the person that does everything for him. I get that’s her only child but he’s 24!!!! I just feel like I’m always competing with his MOM how stupid does that sound?? He tells her to stop and to give him privacy and respect but she doesn’t listen so he gave up on saying anything. And whenever I try to bring it up he just tells me “come on you know how she is you have to ignore it” I just feel like I can’t take it anymore!! It drives me crazy!!!

Any advice?!
