New approach on dealing with bullying

So i came across this post on Twitter. A man spent some time with his sons bully and found out he himself got bullied for not having nice clothes or shoes. His family is also homeless. The man took the kid shopping and dealt with this situation so positively!! Most people were very inspired and supportive of this post but others didn’t agree. I think it’s crazy to even debate this but since there is some difference in opinion- would you deal with your child’s bully in this manner?
