My husband and I have been married about 5 years now and decided to add to our family about 6 months ago, since that decision we’ve had no luck ttc. My sister in law stopped bc and got pregnant her first cycle. She has a now almost 2 year old and is wanting another. Every time we get together with family they make comments about how we’ve been married 5 years and haven’t had kids - obviously I’m aware of that. We’re getting old and aren’t going to be able to enjoy our kids when we finally do have them or they tell us to get busy and give them grandkids or cousins. We haven’t told anyone that we are ttc because I feel like that’s between my husband and I but it honestly hurts so much when they brag on my sister in law and how she’s going to have two kids and we haven’t even started. I bite my tongue each time they whisper in my nieces ear, “tell your auntie you want a cousin.” Because dang it... I want one too!! I want a baby so bad and I feel like they’re rubbing it in my face. I don’t want to tell them we’re trying because I feel like that will get the rumor mill started and make for awkward family Christmas parties. Anyone in similar situations or have any advice?

Update: thanks everyone for your comments! my sister in law just announced she’s pregnant with her second! Not looking forward to the holidays at their house! 🤣
