Does a “suspected” herpes sore have to be “popped” to get a proper culture sample of it? My doctor swears I have herpes ( by a visual) but my culture came back negative . Although I had multiple sores , none were “poppable” so to say . I suppose she could have if she poked with a needle maybe but she just swabbed all over . I’m waiting on bloodwork as we speak ... I’m hoping she is wrong and it’s something else , hopefully curable .
