You can have sex with your best friend (by accident or a flow of strong feelings) and then ruin the friendship with it. 
But you can have a relationship with your boy/girlfriend without sex, but still be in a different connection ☺️ 
I call it a special bond, what lovers have. It’s something that makes living together, sleeping together, looking awkward and gross, having gross sex and all that comfortable. There’s not a lot of people out there you could be so comfortable with.
