Self-induction? 38 weeks

Question

I'm 38w+2d. Yesterday I got checked for dilation and was told I'm high and not dilated. I have been having cramping, some contractions and Braxton Hicks. I'm hoping this changes in the next couple of days. How long after been checked at no dilation did you go into labor? Did you do anything to self induce?

Ive done everything they say to do. 
I’ve was dilated at a 2 and thinned. 
I have lost my mucus plug. 
I have been sooo ungodly sick. 
Ive been having contractions on and off. 
And stilllllllll no baby. I have a dr appt Tom and I’m pretty sure I’m dilated to a 4. I don’t feel like I’ll make it much longer and we will pick my induction date too.

I was checked st 39 weeks with my son and they told me don’t be surprised if I go over my due date. That night... bam! It all happened at once.

Yesterday was my 4th time being checked (3 dr appointments and once at L&D) in the last 3 weeks, and still nothing. I’ve been 2cm dilated for 3 weeks and I’m 80% effaced (which is only up from 70% 3 weeks ago).
