Mastitis?

Hey mamas! 
I'm worried I might have mastitis but don't know what it feels like. 
My left breast is in so much pain. It feels like a spot is harder than the rest, which im assuming is a clogged duct? And I've been feeling sick and tired today (though it could be sleep deprivation and a cold from my husband, I honestly don't know..) 
So mamas that have dealt with either mastitis or a clogged duct, what did it feel like?

Nurse baby in the shower. Dangle feed (lay baby down and dangle boob into mouth) be sure to position babies nose in the direction of the lump to unclog that duct. Massage with alternating hot and cold compresses. If you have ANYTHING that massages like a toy lol sonicare toothbrush, massager etc use it to try and break the clog up. Whatever you do DONOT stop nursing or pumping that side it will only worsen the pain. Take motrin round the clock it will bring down the inflammation. Wet a pad and toss it in the freezer then put it in your bra for instant relief

I had it with both of my children. My breast were so enlarged. I’m a 34DDD. With the illness I was in the G Cup. The pain was miserable. You will have the symptoms of near a flu and fever.  I went in to the ER with a fever high enough to kill me. My case was so severe I spend three days at the hospital away from my newborns. You’ll definitely know when something is wrong. After mastitis, milk supply will decrease. Make a doctors appointment early.

My dr had me take a warm shower and massage it. It hurt but eventually i would start leaking and a lot of the pressure would go away. I also started pumping more to help get it al out.

Mine wasn’t red until the day after my fever skyrocketed. If you develop fever/chills get antibiotics RIGHT AWAY. Mastitis was the sickest I have ever been in my life.

I used to have red hot spots on my boobs and it hurts, but never fever. A hot shower, massage in the area while in the shower and try to extract the milk, also feed my baby did the trick for me.

See a clogged duct. May have turned into mastitis. Try to rub it going towards your nippple as baby feeds or you pump. Do this is a hot shower. and maybe sit with a hot wash cloth on it. If it doesn’t resolve then you may have mastitis and need antibiocs

Sounds like mastitis. Is your breast red around where the clogged duct is? If so, I’d contact a doctor to get on antibiotics for mastitis ASAP. The meds made me feel a million times better within 24 hours.

i just got over having mastitis. it was awful. i felt like i was dying. my breast was so sore and it was torture to feed my baby from that side. i had a huge hard lump and it was red and hot to the touch. i got a fever of 102 and felt like i had the flu. called my ob and they gave me 10 days of antibiotics and i just pumped like crazy with a warm compress on my breast. it took the full 10 days to feel better and have it loosen up.
