Tips for breastfeeding??

I just had my daughter 2 days ago and I’m breastfeeding. I know in the beginning it’s super painful but what are some tips to help with the pain??

Make sure your baby has a good latch! Make sure your nipples dry and use lanolin to help moisturize.

I had a hard time it was so painfull but I wanted to do it so bad for my baby. I just took my time, patience is everything and I got a lactation nurse to come to my home and help me. 😍💜
I think the more frequent you do it the better it will get. 
Sometimes you will produce alot of milk sometimes not lol that would frustrate me 😂

In the beginning it does hurt, a lot. But a good latch eases the pain. Also apply lanolin after every feed. Eventually you won’t experience the pain.

Get support from hospital or midwife to correct the latch, it shouldn’t hurt

Get your baby checked for tongue/lip tie. They don’t automatically check for some reason but it can impact latch and cause pain

The best advice I got from my Lactation consultant: if it hurts, you’re NOT doing it right! I will take as long as it takes to make sure my baby has a proper latch so that it doesn’t hurt. I have had NO breast feeding pain at all with that advice.

My lactation consultant actually told me not to use lanolin until baby has established a good latch and to use coconut oil instead.  That helped me. After a few weeks it becomes super easy and comfortable! Hang in there girl!
