My first was 17 months old when my second was born, and was weaned around 13 months. I let her try a few times when she wanted to, because she was struggling with jealousy and clearly felt left out, but she had already forgotten how even in that short time frame. If she had been older than two, I probably would have just told her they were how babies eat, and she was a big girl now, and gotten her a snack or something instead.

My 2 year old sees her baby sitter eating an she always like mommy can I try it ( she was breastfed for a year) An I’m like no that’s your sissy well one night I wasn’t paying attention laying there without a shirt on an she licked my nipple cause there was milk dripping out an she jumped back was like like mommy yum 😅🤦🏼‍♀️ I was like no more of that 😅

My mom breastfed me until I was almost 3, but that was consistent. If you had stopped and the toddler wants to start again (because of a new baby) I would say no. It’s normal for the older sibling to backtrack a little in development because of a new baby but I think you have to stay firm that it’s not okay for him/her to act like a baby again just because there’s a new baby.

Under 2, I'd give it a try. My daughter was 14 months when I had my second. She was very interested. I let her give it a try. It was really weird for me if I'm being honest. She couldn't figure it out but her curiosity was satisfied 🤷🏼‍♀️

I nursed my daughter for 2 years and stopped due to my current pregnancy. She still asks to nurse and I tell him "no we don't nurse anymore." Once the new baby is here and she starts to get jealous the plan is to remind her every time that she had a turn when she was a baby , now it's new baby's turn. I couldn't nurse 2 kids at once. It's hard enough to nurse one.

No, but I think I’d pump after my new baby is born and let her drink it if she wanted. Most toddlers wouldn’t remember how to latch properly anyway.
