Membrane stripping at 37/38 weeks , effective or no ?

I’m 39+1 and just got mine stripped this morning! Praying it does something!!! She said I’m 1cm (have been for a month) and my cervix is softer so we shall see 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Had mine friday at 38+4 and start laboring that night and gave birth saturday at 12h27pm. ❤

Had mine done at 38 weeks. Now I’m almost 39 weeks and still waiting. Had some bleeding, lost my mucus plug, been having super irregular contractions. Just waiting and hoping to avoid my next appointment.

The membrane sweep didn't work, but I will get another one on Monday & if that doesn't work, my inductions on the 18th. 
10 more days tops til I meet my little man .

Do you ask them to sweep it or does it have to be a medical reason I have an appt Thursday at 38+1 and wanna have it swept. But I dont know the requirements
