Normal tantrum?

My LO has been starting to throw tantrums more regularly. Not everyday, but a few times a week. Today she had a tantrum for 40 minutes. Is that a normal duration? It’s not like that all the time, but today I was scared I wouldn’t be able to get her out of it. Normal or not normal?

Mine did that once or twice last month and it was like he just completely lost control of his emotions. I was trying to do the “ignore him” thing, but he was just spiraling and I’m pregnant and was just so upset. I ended up sitting on the ground, and he came to me and sat in my lap and hiccuped in my chest and let out a sigh of relief and just had me hold him for about ten minutes and it was over. So for tantrums where he’s just upset and he isn’t demanding something, I’ve changed my tactic because it seems like he’s just losing control of his emotions and the one thing that calms him down is comfort. (My approach is different if he’s screaming he wants something like cartoons)

Every once in a while when my son throws a tantrum, He gets really into it. To the point where I think he completely forgets why he is upset to begin with. I am able to reel him back in and calm down by distracting him with something else, like asking if he wants to play cars or if he wants a snack or wants to do tumbles with me. That usually works.

We have that sometimes, particularly about getting into the car seat. I have been stranded in parking lots for well over an hour several times in the past few weeks 😑

It's fine. My daughter gets like that sometimes, when nothing will help chill her out. Sometimes you just gotta ride it out. It isn't everyday that it's that long, so I wouldn't be concerned.
