Is watching siblings or babysitting equivalent to raising a child?
I see this argument a lot when people try to explain how ready they are to have a child.
“Well I’ve babysat for 3 years so I’m ready for a baby” or “I used to watch my little sister all the time, I was basically her mom”
Do you think they’re comparable to actually being a parent and raising a child?
*this does not include siblings with actual custody of their younger siblings who DO raise them. Just those who simply watch them occasionally for their parents*
