TRIGGER WARNING!! Fireworks - what’s the appropriate solution?

So piggybacking off my own post, I’ve just found this horrific article on bbc news. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend reading all of it but I’ll include it all anyway

What do you believe is the appropriate response to this? Should fireworks have more restrictions, and if so what should they be? What should the punishments for these individuals be? 
Currently in the UK the only restrictions on buying fireworks is you have to be 18, and they must be used on private property. Are these restrictions fair or should they be tightened? 
Lots of people yesterday didn’t want fireworks banned to the public, has this article with its examples changed your mind? Do you believe in stricter regulations instead of a ban?

If you took away fireworks, they'd find some other way to be destructive violent dicks either way.
I'm pro fireworks. I absolutely love them. Fire & explosions, I'm all about that life.
However, I'm very understanding towards ptsd and the struggles people can face during firework friendly holidays. We don't light off fireworks in our city when it's legal. We head out into the country and light them off there. There's designated areas that families get together to light them off together.

I said it on your other post, these idiots come out every year. People get seriously injured and people die every year because of crap like this. They should be banned and used professionally for displays. It doesn't make sense that something so dangerous is so readily available to the public. I've known people whose parents have done fireworks INSIDE their homes. And I know loads of people who grew up having 'firework fights', which is basically just weirdos launching fireworks at one another. It's ridiculous.

I live somewhere close to Liverpool and it feels like it’s getting worse around here by the day, it’s really scary. This year I heard of multiple people getting fireworks thrown at them and even people posting them through letter boxes. 
Fireworks are also very stressful for pets and animals living outside. 
To be honest I want them banned, or at the very least you should require a license to buy them if you’re organising a venue.

Honesty I think you should have a license to have fireworks. People can go to public displays on the holidays if they're that pressed. Fireworks injure people and start fires.

My dog is afraid to go outside because of how bad it is this year. Putting down puppy pads for an adult dog because they're so terrified is just ridiculous. Fireworks should only be sold for organised displays, for one day a year and only silent fireworks. Why make the elderly/autistic/PTSD suffers/pets/small children suffer for some adults to enjoy what equates to loud sparkly lights in the sky. Fire services being attacked with fireworks, homeless people being attacked, people's homes being used as target practice, animals having fireworks strapped to them. The list goes on. October to January is like hell for my poor dog because of idiots and their fireworks, I enjoy a good display but not when its random neighbours setting them off for a quarter of the bloody year.
Sorry for the rant I've had just about enough this year and its only the start.

That kid should go to jail. Banning fireworks will not stop violence. Also, you should be a certain age to buy fireworks, and certain ages should only be allowed to possess them with supervision.

Honestly I’m just wondering how someone could put something in your pocket and you not notice what it is or that their doing it, especially because fireworks aren’t that light and usually have the noise of the wick being lit. Maybe I’m just hyper aware 🤷🏼‍♀️

How often do people get assaulted with fireworks there? Is there a consistent issue with fireworks?! 
I would be ok with people needing to apply for a permit seeing as how they are explosive and can cause serious damage and death. 
I also think they should be charged with assault with intent (I think that’s a thing🤔🤷🏻‍♀️). Who the hell does that to a person!!?!
