Uncertain News from the Doctor

Last week we did our first trimester non-invasive DNA blood test to screen for Down syndrome, trisomy and find out the sex of the baby. We got a call from the doctor yesterday and she said that when looking for the sex, they found only one X chromosome. This means it’s possible that the baby would have something called Turner syndrome. It’s a screening test, so we’re going to see the genetic counselor today. There are a lot of possibilities and we don’t know anything for sure yet. We are very worried. Of course I cried and sobbed after the doctor first told me. I think we’ll need to do one of the invasive tests to get a more definitive answer. Please pray for us and our baby 🙏🏻
