I SAW A GHOST AT WORK??? (Warning: Super long)

So I work as a nanny for this lovely family in an upper class neighborhood. The pay is wonderful considering more than half the time I care for a beautiful 3 month old, occasionally I take care of the oldest daughter which is 2 years old. The mother works from home and is so awesome she actually lets me go upstairs to the theater room to nap on this huge beanbag as long as I have the baby monitor to check on the baby downstairs while she sleeps in her crib. The mom is able to feed the baby so that’s the only time I bother her when she’s working.

Yesterday the most chilling experience happened: At first I was in the nursery with the baby putting her to sleep when I noticed myself dozing off. I put the baby in her crib, grabbed the monitor from the kitchen counter, then made my way upstairs to take a light nap while being conscious of the the baby. When I put her in her crib her burping napkin fell on the floor, I really didn’t care to pick it up because I’ll be honest I wanted to sleep. As I was walking up the stairs I got a really bad feeling, I assumed I was just paranoid because the mother wasn’t home at the time and the house is pretty big. Not sure why but a big house meant to be lived in is so unnerving when it’s empty. The echoes can be haunting. I shrugged it off, closed myself in the theater room, and watched the screen to make sure the baby wasn’t awake.

(Little clarification with the baby monitor: There’s a camera above her crib that allows me to see her, it’s not just an audio baby monitor. When it senses the baby is moving it turns on and gives me the feed but if the baby is still and sleeping it turns off the save battery.)

I fell asleep holding the monitor in such a way that all I had to do was open my eyes to see if the baby was okay, touch the screen if I had to but point is it was super easy access.

As I was napping I felt this loud ringing in my ear, it rang about three long times before I noticed that I couldn’t move my entire body. I could open my eyes sluggishly if I tried incredibly hard but I simply couldn’t move. It felt like 3 tons were on every inch of my body. I was so confused until I heard a voice that wasn’t mine. It sounded like an elderly crazed woman who laughed at my difficulty. I remember she said, “You’re never going to get out.” repeating that same phrase several times. My eyes shot open and I saw a dark figure with glowing green eyes standing behind the recliners of the theater room. He just stood there staring at me. Terrified, I still couldn’t move my body despite seeing this dark energy with my own two eyes. I couldn’t take being still anymore, especially since I hadn’t checked on the baby knowing that is energy is there and it’s real. I noticed that I could tap my foot, I tried moving it as much as I could hoping that I could build momentum from it and some how manage to tap the baby monitor. Eventually I was able to inch myself to monitor and tap the screen.

When the screen gave me the feed it showed somebody standing over the baby, picking up the burping napkin from the floor and hung it on the side of crib. My heart dropped because all I could do was watch, this figure was literally standing over a baby. It touched her face and got into the crib with her. After a few seconds the baby started crying hysterically and I sat straight up. Hurrying down the stairs to the nursery, as I got down the mom said shes got it and went to feed her. Trying to shake the feeling I asked the mom wear she left the burping napkin to which she replied saying she wasn’t sure.

I went into the nursery only to find it hanging on the side of the crib, wear the dark figure left it.

After that all three of us went to the dining room to have lunch, the mom and I started having a conversation and then she mentioned that her oldest 2 year old daughter would cry and say there’s monsters in the wall. She also said that her daughter would point at the theater room which I slept in and only say “monster.”

I’m not quite sure how to interpret any of this or whether I should tell the mom or not. The rest of the day I had a terrible feeling like nothing was the same after that. I don’t want to lose my job because this is such a great opportunity and pay which my family greatly needs. Has anyone else had something familiar happen to them or has any advice?

(Probably posting this in the category that gets more views btw because I’m desperate 😅)

EDIT: For those mentioning sleep paralysis, I’ve personally never ever had sleep paralysis before in my entire life. Perhaps you’re mistaken or I’m misinformed?
