Taking newborn out in public?

Just wanna know when you all started taking your baby out in public? At what age is okay to do so?

Our pediatrician recommendeds avoiding public spaces for 8 weeks. And since its Winter and flu season, he’s suggesting we still limit baby’s exposure 
Call me crazy but we are following his advice as much as possible!

We took our LO to his appointments and that about it until he got his shots. There was too many viruses going around and our pediatrician recommended us to wait.

Dad has to work and mama’s got to get groceries. 🤷‍♀️ Week one. Makes it easy when you wrap.

Our daughter was out in public at 2 days old. We never locked ourselves away. I see way too many women who do that and up with postpartum depression. As long as you're using common sense (i.e. not allowing strangers to touch and hold your child), you'll be just fine.

They way my doc put it was for the first 6 weeks babys only job is to sleep and eat and not to socialize. She thinks taking baby out too much will over stimulate him! So at 2 weeks old we have taken him to target where he slept in his carseat the whole time covered so noone could see him! He has also been to the doctors office once. But for now i am skipping my toddlers weekly library story time and church so that he doesnt become.over stimulated! But to each their own!! Other love getting out right away but hubby and i just take turns running the errands for now!!

I had to go to Walmart to get preemie diapers after she was born. Newborns were too big. No she wasn’t a preemie but she did only weight 6-2 at birth & dropped to 5-4 when we were discharged. She was 5-2 at her 2 day check up. (I checked out about 32 hrs after & they let us both go since I already had a ped lined up.) So literally less than 2 days after she was born.

I took my son out at less than a week old.

2 weeks old was me and my husbands anniversary and we took her out to dinner with us . We kept her covered up in her car seat though . Every time I’d take her outside or grocery shopping or anything I’d make sure she was in her stroller where people wouldn’t be coughing on her or touching her. Once she hit 8 weeks and had her shots, is when i started holding her out just Incase people got closer to her . I also had her in July though it’s different as it gets closer to flu season and gets colder

We waited 6 weeks. Before that he would just go with us in the car and one person would stay with him in the car while the other went in the store.
