Should I stop him from sucking thumb?

Question

My son is 3 months old and has recently figured out how to suck his thumb. He takes his binky sometimes but he really only wants his thumb lately. Should I stop him? I don’t know how but I’ve heard that it’ll be bad later on. My daughter had a binky and it was hell taking away from her when she was around 1. You can’t take their thumb away, lol. 
So what should I do? He looks so cute doing it though!

I sucked my thumb and my teeth are fine

Pacifier is better then thumb because you could always take the pacifier away

My LO started doing this too. I just take his thumb out and put a nuk in instead. Be consistent . much easier breaking the nuk habbit than a thumb sucking habbit. Good luck.

Taking a paci away will be way easier. My brother had a friend that sucked his thumb at 17 😳

My son sucked his finger now has them he will be six and he still does it. It’s horrible his finger is miss shaped And his teeth are starting to get crocket. I don’t know how to break his habit.

I don’t see an issue with it right now 🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess it might be hard to stop it later on. My 8 month old does it because he’s teething bad and his hands feel better than toys. We used hot sauce on my cousin so she would stop

I was a thumb sucker and I struggled with it until 7/8. I have never allowed my kids to sick their thumb because I knew how hard it was to quit. Not to mention germs and stuff. You can take a binky away when they’re too old for it but you can’t take away their thumb. Better to nip it in the bud.

I wouldn't say it's a problem right now. My son was thumb sucker until about 4 or 5 months when he got his first tooth in so he quit completely on his own. I was the same way as a baby

My son stoped on his own.  He just stoped one day. I think he was about 6 months.

I’ve seen the impact of prolonged thumb sucking. I would rather have to take a binkie away than to try and stop thumb sucking
