So I’m just curious...how many follicles did you start out with at your first monitoring appointment and how many did you actually wind up retrieving and fertilizing?!

I went to my first monitoring appointment and she measured 30 follicles altogether. Surely I won’t end up with that many will I? Not that I’m complaining by any means but I don’t want to be surprised when/if we have a much lower number after retrieval.

UPDATE:

Day 4 - 30 follicles total; 6 follicles 10mm and up

Day 8 - 36 follicles total; 27 follicles 10mm and up

Day 10 - I’m so uncomfortable and overstimulated and just flat out tired!! Instead of typing my results today I just screen shot it. She couldn’t see my left ovary or follicles well so I’ll go back tomorrow to try again and hopefully schedule my egg retrieval! 🤞🏻

Day 11 - we have scheduled my retrieval for Tuesday! I start my Lupron tonight. IM SO NERVOUS!!!

UPDATE: had my retrieval yesterday and out of almost 50 follicles they were only able to get 13 eggs. Out of those 13, 9 were good mature eggs and all 9 have been fertilized. I knew my numbers would be much lower than the actual number of follicles but I was a bit shocked that we didn’t even get 20. From what my husband told me, my left ovary was tucked behind my uterus and they weren’t able to retrieve all of the eggs. However, I’m grateful that we had any at all. Praying we don’t lose too many from this point.
