Celebrate first birthday or Not?!

Is it even worth celebrating first birthdays? My little one wont even know what is going on.... my husband wants to but i honestly dont. What your take on this?! Did you celebrate your little one’s first birthday?! Is it even worth all the hustle and bustle?

Maybe meet in the middle - have a small get together with the grandparents and aunts/uncles to celebrate? That's what I will be doing

I don't have a kid BUT looking back on early birthday parties with pictures and video is always fun, especially when your child gets older and can see the happy times of their early years.

I obviously don’t remember my first birthday from 32 years ago. But I do have pictures from my birthday party- sitting on my dad’s lap in front of a cake at the kitchen table with a big bow on my head as everyone is gathered around singing to me. A lot of my relatives who are in the photo are not with us anymore, including my dad (who looked so happy looking down at me). Even though I don’t remember a thing from that day, I still really cherish it, and it’s almost as if I can actually remember it. First birthday is a huge milestone. It’s definitely worth it. They’ll appreciate the photos when they grow up. It may also get your child used to knowing what birthdays are all about.

I don’t know if it will cut the picture or not but my son had so much fun.  We had family and friends over.  Kids. Cake. Cotton candy. It was fun.

We took her to the zoo on her birthday. We had a small party that weekend with just immediate family on both sides. I saw no point in having a party until they are old enough to remember/enjoy it. Honestly before that it’s all for the mom because she wants to do it. A one year old doesn’t understand.

It really comes down to what you want. Most first birthday parties I’ve been to were more about seeing the baby and celebrating with the parents. I love parties so I would definitely have one.
