How long will would u wait for someone to marry you? Me and my partner have discussed marriage. He says he wants to be able to do everything perfect and he doesn’t like to talk about it because he wants it to be a surprise. We have been together 5 years in January and have a child that will be three in January. I’m starting to wonder if I’m wasting my time and my life? How long is too long ?

We met on a Friday got married on the following Monday. The “perfect” moment will never be there, don’t stress out about the “perfect” moment it will never be there. Just acknowledge the love and bond you have and decide whether or not you both want it to be forever.

I’d wait 2 years for a ring. Then it’s time to shit or get off the pot. I gave my man an ultimatum. He knew he needed to propose or I’d bounce. If they don’t know by then they will never know. And who buys the cow if they get the milk for free?

3-5 years max. I get its just a piece of paper but thats not how it is to me. The ring to me is a forever symbol and the mans actions behind that as well as the womans. Cause you cant get married and expect everything to be perfect you still gotta work day in and day out for the love you both want and deserve. Its easy to love but hard to keep loving through all the battles. And thats where marriages fail. And thats why i want that title because to me its something you work for no matter how hard it gets and its everlasting at least that's hoe it should be. 💖

You should be able to honestly discuss time frames and goals for your life. I feel like his answer is taking you for granted. What if it takes him another 10 years to propose? 😒

Going into our 9th year we talk about alot of other stuff we want. And sometimes we have convos like "Oh if we got married we would have this and this etc" but dunno lol. Not a priority.  I don't care if we never do, but would 100% say yes if he did.

If marriage is something that is important to you, talk to him about it. Me personally, I've been with my guy 10 years and were planning a baby before we plan to tie the knot. It's just not something we need. We know where our love stands.

I myself would wait forever. I dont believe in love being defined by marriage and am very secure in my relationship. I do see though where your coming from and a proper discussion is needed then after that if your not happy with the outcome and feel you need to move on then you should probably do so
