Not what I was expecting!

Anna Rose

Hello ladies!

I went in for my 39 week apt on Tuesday and upon the nurse taking my vitals we noticed that my BP was high. She came back 15 minutes later and rechecked- still high. Doc came in and said that I was boarder line preeclamptic and would feel better about me delivering today instead of on Thursday (scheduled induction because of BMI and Factor 5 Clotting Disorder). I agreed! She checked my cervix and I was already at a 4 😰 and 90% thinned. I left, called my boyfriend and headed home to pack. They were expecting me at the hospital in 2 hours. We packed and made our way over. They started pitocin at about 3:30pm. My water broke at about 4:30pm on its own. 5:30pm I was at a 5. 7:30pm came and the contractions were right on top of each other I begged the nurse for the epidural. Man was that heavenly! A total godsend! I got the epidural about 8 and I was at a 7. After I got the epidural my family came in to say hi and I felt like a new woman. The contractions were still there but nothing like they were! Holy heaven! At 11pm I was 10cm and 100% ready to push. 11:30pm I started pushing. At 1:26am I pushed so hard I thought my chest hit the ceiling. It felt like my entire body filled that room and exploded. Craziest feeling I’ve ever had!

Little Evelyn Maelyse was born at 1:26am on Wednesday November 7th 2018. 7lbs 4oz, 20in long. I labored for roughly 10-11 hours with her and for a first time mom having an induction I cant complain. I feel as though my labor went very well! Plus look at the beautiful baby I get to call mine. I love her so much. I am praying for all of you and your labors. Love you ladies. Thanks for being here for me through my pregnancy. What a journey!
