Job problems

My husband works for a pipeline, that’s all he’s ever done. He travels for work so is never home. Our bills right now are like $5000/month. He makes 6-8000/month So it’s all good. But with kids, and wanting to buy a home soon, we don’t want him traveling anymore.

If he wasn’t to travel and our bills were minimal, everything not needed cut out, they would be about 3500/month. That’s around 900/week.

I cannot work for mental and medical reasons and have been in therapy and medication for years before anyone says anything. Plus I will be homeschooling my kids. But I couldn’t work even if I wanted to.

He makes so much now, but we’ve been looking for well over a year for jobs at home that he could do and can’t find any. This is the only thing he is good at and has experience in as he got hired in at 18. Anyone have any suggestions on jobs that are mainly labor that pay that well?

He’s a welders helper/laborer on the pipeline. He’s currently looking at being an inspector and they make 250k a year at this job plus benefits but he’d still have to travel and the money isn’t worth the sacrifice.

We live in Ohio, no set town at the moment as we are open to moving anywhere in the country. Except Florida and Arizona 😂
