Sooo this happened last night with my bf and I??? First of all, I believe he’s being childish and extremely rude. He knows I have extreme anxiety and plays this bullshit? Second of all, I have no idea what he’s talking about when he says that I’ve done this before? I have never EVER done anything like this. This is hardcore manipulative bs and it really pissed me off. Am I overreacting?

Shit like that is not cool especially if he knows you have anxiety. If this is an often occurrence then I’d leave him. He obviously doesn’t understand how it feels to anxiety and how pranks like this really aren’t cool for someone who struggles with anxiety.

From an outside perspective, it looks like he’s being playful and funny, not childish (irrespective of your anxiety). Of course I don’t know how he acts when you’re together, he might be childish in person! That’s your judgement ☺️
However, respecting your anxiety, this doesn’t seem like a great thing to do at all. It seems to me like he is not empathetic towards you and your anxiety. That sucks, and generally, men can be less empathetic than woman, so he may not see the consequences of his actions. But that is no excuse and he if he loves you he wouldn’t do anything to upset you intentionally. Therefore if he wasn’t doing it intentionally to upset you then it’s clear to me that he doesn’t fully understand what it means to have anxiety. If you can give him more of an idea of what it’s like, anxiety in your shoes, then I think he could be more empathetic! 
Regarding your response, in the moment it is so easy to say ‘fuck you’ because let’s be honest, I think anyone would be worried if they received those messages AND annoyed when finding out they were joking. So I don’t blame you. But escalating the situation won’t help. If you were tired and irritated that he had done that it may have been best to say “I wish you wouldn’t do that” and then address it the next day when you weren’t as worried/annoyed/tired. As he was joking about he was probably shocked by your response, but that doesn’t mean the way you responded was wrong. 
He apologised the next day, which is good, but definitely address it the next time you meet! I hope you’re okay!

I think the only people saying it's not a big deal are the ones that don't have anxiety. I would've been hit with a panic attack so bad I'd need to go to a hospital. That's not okay.
