So let’s just say your balance is $500 and you use it then pay it back. How long does it take for you to get more money on it? Like some people work their way up from $500 to $1000 to 2000 etc how long does that take to build?

I started Discover at 4k and have gotten 2 increases in a year. At year 3, I'm now up to 11k limit. 
I pay well over the minimum payment every month and some months I pay twice if money allows me which also helped my FICO score increase quick.
Working at best buy, it's a little different. It takes about 6 months to a year of steady payments or pay offs to ask for an increase (most of my customers get approved for increasment around 6 months so im assuming). But keep on top of your payments and credit score and you should be fine.

It depends when the bank ups your limit and how quickly you pay it back.  I have one card for $50,000.  I am paying it off and then putting the limit down to $20,000 and getting a line of credit.  A line of credit far better than a credit card.  The interest rate is far better!

My first one increased after 6 on time payments. After that I can request an increase, or when I update my income I might get an increase.

It all depends when the credit card company runs your annual credit on you. Also you can  request a credit line  increase at anytime but I would give them at least 6 month before requesting one, Remember they look at all 3 credit reports to see how you handle your financial bills. Also credit to ratio makes a difference as well what you bring in as a income yearly.
