Kids or no kids at a baby shower?

So I’m running into a problem here...

So every time I’ve had other gatherings, there has been kids and they get crazy and wild, play really hard, yell and scream (I totally understand that is the nature of a child but) my grandma is hosting this shower and her house is big but not big enough for rough house play. The shower is in January, and it’s going to probably be cold and wet out.

So I would like to just say no kids allowed on invite but, there are a lot of girls with babies and young toddlers that have to be with them. So I don’t expect them not to bring them with, that would be rude of me. So I’m kind of at a loss here. I don’t want the older kids over but am really okay with babies and young toddlers.

Can you put an age limit on the invite?

It’s my baby shower and I don’t want to be stressed out on a special day with rough housing kids.

UPDATE:

After talking it over with my sister in law, we have decided that saying girls only baby shower will resolve the problem we have here.
