How to get more sleep?

I'm EBF my 6 week old and she wakes up every 3-4 hours at night and I'm just exhausted. My husband offered to feed her a bottle during the night so I could get uninterrupted sleep. But wouldnt I need to wake up to pump anyway since I'd be missing a feeding?

I would say by week 2, my husband and I came to the conclusion for us to get consecutive sleep we would go in shifts. I am up until about 2am then my husband is up from 2-8. For a while I would walk up to pump during that time but after a while I just needed the sleep. So I would sleep for 6 hours straight and pump ASAP when I got up. Luckily I can still sleep that long. It not feel engorged and am still producing (over producing as well) the same as I was before. I am soooo thankful I have pumped enough (200oz in freezer) so my husband can feed him a bottle while I get sleep. You just need to find your groove!

I used to get my partner to handle the first feed around 12. I would pump at 9 before i went to bed. If my son didnt wake up by about 230 id wake up feeling engorged anyways so id pump if i was uncomfortable. Or when he woke up I'd pump the other side after I fed him on one and go back to bed.

A one-off won’t really affect your supply - give yourself the rest!

Yes u should wake up to pump unfortunately, you can try to train your body though to miss that one u might just leak a lot and your supply might go down.Try nursing her then pump and sleep while you hubby does the next feeding. Take a nap during the day when she does maybe. Unfortunately its part of having a newborn and BFing, it can be really hard and trying but it will get better as she gets older and feedings become further apart. Good luck Mama.
