So I am 16 weeks pregnant and my doctors office does genetic testing no matter what and that calls for blood work. Well when I got my blood drawn she wiped up blood off of the little tray with gauze (I’m assuming it was my blood) and put the SAME gauze on my arm to bandage it. I looked at the tray and it had blood smears on it. Hopefully just from my blood but still. It honestly grossed me out so much I almost said something and probably should’ve. First, I don’t think my blood should not be splattering on the tray while getting my blood taken? Second, she should not use a STERILE gauze to wipe (hopefully only my) blood off the tray and then put it on my arm. Does she sanitize the tray after every body??? Who knows. I thought that was so disgusting and unprofessional. What do you all think? Should I complain? Or am I being dramatic? I will note I am a germaphobe but I want to know if I am over reacting in this situation.
