Potty Training Boy Question...

We are working on introducing potty training to our almost two year old boy. I plan on addressing this with his pediatrician, but I figured I’d ask here to see if this was an observation among other toddler boy moms too. My son is in the 85th percentile for weight and 50th for height. He’s a little chunky. I’m not entirely sure how to go about potty training him because his penis does not hang down. It is almost like a button. I’m afraid if I told him to sit down and pee it would get everywhere. I’ve been told it could be a fat pad issue because if you lightly push down, his penis is there. I’d say he’s maybe an inch or a little more. Should I be concerned?
