Prescription to help conceive?

I’m currently on cd45 (with negative tests) and getting increasingly frustrated. I went off birth control in April and all my cycles have been over 40 days. Since I’m approaching my 8th month off bc, I am starting to wonder if I’m taking an abnormally long time to get a regular cycle again so I made a doctors appointment for next week. I’m not sure I’ve been ovulating. If you went to a doctor with a similar issue, how long did it take for your doctor to give you a prescription like clomid? Did you have to go through additional tests?
