Should i try harder trying to conceive #1?

Hi girls bit of advice would be appreciated...

Background: 3rd anniversary just celebrated 2 days ago. TTC since aug 2018 i know not long but still having a visit from AF! is very 💔😢.

We both work 12 hr shift but still have time for each other as much as we can.

1st month just tried to BD when we could

2nd month BD everyday or 2nd in fertile window but then AF arrived 8days late so when did i ovulate..🤔

3rd month BD every 2/3 days throughout the whole month to catch O 😑

But nope yet again must have missed it!

So my question is should i buy ovulation tests to pin point ovulation. Even though everyone says relax and let nature take it course?

Sorry for long message just dont know what to do? 🤨
