PLEASE HELP! Why have my ear piercings done this?

I have had my second lobe piercings for about 10 years and recently they started swelling up. I have had no issues with my first lobe piercing.

That is a keloid. I have a few due to me being Asian and it’s common with us. I have one on the exactly same spot as you. Some come from acne spots or tattoos/wounds/piercings. Do not listen to the advice of these ladies. Salt water will not remove this as a keloid is literally a scar where the skin has already healed after trauma/injury. Don’t go back to your piercer because they can’t do anything. I suggest going to a doctor where they will likely tell you to stop wearing jewelry for the time being and inject it with a substance called “kenalog.” They will tell you to come back every two months until it is gone. It’s not a big deal...after mine was injected and was flattened I could wear jewelry and/or get the area pierced again.

I was told by my pierced to make a salt water solution, just boil water and salt and apply it a few times a day it should go down

It's a keloid. Just keep your piercings in and clean, it will go away after a while. Try tea tree oil, that can help.

Keloid,return to your piercer to have it removed or go to the doctor and they'll do it.

Take it out and keep it out. It's a keloid,  if you damage it further it will get bigger.
