50% effaced, a half cm dilated, does this mean baby will come early????

I’m 33 weeks, 2 days, due Jan 13th, my dr said he thinks the baby will come between Xmas and New Years. Anyone else have similar experiences?? If so, what happened???

I was dilated and thinned and my doctor assured me I wouldn’t make it to my due date.... 😑 she came 3 hours before her due date. How far dilated you are doesn’t have a lot to do with when baby will come (before 5cm)

I was 4cm dilated for 3 1/2 weeks with my second child! Had him 37 weeks exactly.

Not really. You can go from not being dilated at all to full blown labor super quick. Or you can be dilated and still go to 40 weeks. There is no way to tell for sure

With my first, I was thinned out and 2 cm dialated for 2 weeks... you never really know! She came 3 days late 😑

Lost my mucous plug at 34w and went into labor at 36w4d. They said I was 3cm and 50% effaced at 34w! I’m currently 2cm and 60% effaced at 34w with my 3rd so we shall see!!

With both my daughters, at 36 weeks I was 4cm/80% with one and 4cm/100% with the other. Delivered at 40+1 and 39+2

I’m due on the 2nd in January and I haven’t had any checks. Still sure this kid won’t make it to Christmas
