Anyone dilated at 34 weeks?

I am 34 weeks and found out today that I am 2cm dilated. I have a pretty demanding job and was wondering if I should maybe go on leave. I don’t want him coming before 37 weeks.

What you’re dilated to doesn’t mean anything unless you’re in labor. You could be dilated to that for the next 6 weeks

I was dilated 1cm for 4 weeks. Never had my baby drop and was only 70% effaced when my water broke. Had to have a csection because I remained at 1cm for 15 hours. Moral of the story - you can be dilated the same forever and have it mean nothing.

You could be dilated until you go past your due date.  As long as you’re not consistently dilating or having consistent contractions than you could be dilated to a 2 for a while before giving birth.

Yes, I was dilated to a 2, and 70% effaced at about 35 weeks. And still had to be induced two days after my due date

Unfortunately its true it doesn't mean anything. I went on leave early because I was 1cm dilated at 32 weeks thinking he would come early. He was 4 days overdue 😒 lol

Yes I'm 28 weeks and dilated to 3 cm. I did go into preterm labor but my contractions were stopped. As long as your not consistently contracting you can stay at 2 for quite a while.

With my first I was dilated at 31 weeks but I didn't have her till after my due date.
