Do they do a vaginal ultrasound after 9 weeks?

I’m 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant I’ll be having my first ultrasound in 3 days. Will they do a vaginal one? Or a normal one? I’m just curious. I’ve had ultrasounds only past 17 weeks

When I had my first ultrasound at 11 weeks they done it vaginal. They said it’s because the baby is so little that it’s closer to the baby and easier to see it on the inside.

It really depends. You could ask them to try abdominal first and if it is not clear enough they will do vaginal.
In here vaginal up to 12 weeks and the 12 week scan is abdominsl.
Depends on the doctor, nurse and machine.

I had an external ultrasound at 9 weeks 4 days (first appt) and you could see baby. Sometimes when you're early they'll try vaginal first but my midwife tried abdominal first and it worked

I always have abdominal first. I’m 9 weeks Thursday and i already had 3 ultrasounds and all have been abdominal and been able to see baby without vaginal, but my ultrasound tech always does both
