Should the cash bail system be abolished everywhere?

Laws vary state to state, but I was wondering how everyone felt about the bail system and about bail bondsman profiting off of this system?

Yes! It disproportionately affects the poor, instead of making the community safer. It’s basically telling rich people they can do what they want, and buy their way out pending the trial (where they’re also privileged in not having to rely on public defenders).

If I hadn’t had sold my houses when that cunt kept making bullshit warrants I would have been in jail for over a month, and then SHE would have had the choice to continue the court date 3 times or more... for whenever SHE wanted to have the court date in the future because she was the “victim”. 
The last time I was arrested the previous bondsman put back my bond because “I want nothing to do with that man whether it’s an abused ex or not they’re all bad news” so my bond was the new amount AND the revoked amount that I had to RE PAY. 
In total I lost over $20,000 in bond over her. 
The county where she took them out is obviously dirty. They don’t allow bondsman to advertise within a certain hundred feet near the jail, where my local hometown jail one has a list right beside the phone. They think the more people arrested and sitting in jail means they’re tough on crime, when they aren’t. 
Thank god one man bought a huge billboard with his number on it at the road you turn on to enter the jail & I memorized it and got out and back home to my dogs that were in their crates for 3 days. 
Obviously if there is blatant evidence of murder then you need to stay the fuck in jail but “civil” matters like I dealt with with ZERO REAL PROOF other than a bitch and a texting app??? Let me go home.

I think it should. It’s an equal system that preys on the poor and minorities. (Yes race is involved)
The bail amount are always extremely high no matter the income of the defendant. 
Rich defendants can bail out even if the pose any risk vs the poor defendant who doesn’t with no prior offenses. 
An old mentor of mine felt that it was a way to make an incentive to plead guilty.

Obviously you don't want potential murderers and rapists walking around, 
There needs to be some pre-trial checks regarding: prior convictions, flight-risk,
Likelihood of achieving conviction, danger posed to the public and income of the defendant and/or their guardian.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if they got rid of it wouldn't that mean people sitting in jail for a lot longer awaiting trial??
what if they're not guilty and then they just have to be imprisoned for however long until they get to trial?

Unpopular opinion here, I actually don't believe it should be abolished. Multiple times I've had to bail family members out and instead of paying a 1800$ fine I only had to pay $180 and make sure they go to their next court date. If you do what the bailbondmen and the court requires then no it doesn't cost a crazy amount of money, no it's not a hassle. I'm actually really thankful they were willing to help because my father in law would still be sitting in jail for a traffic ticket.
