Period came late;was shorter than usual.

So my period came 3 days late which Never happens and when it finally did come,it started out brown for like 8 hours then went to my normal flow until the 4th day when all I had was spotting I woke up sick throwing up. Should I take a test? Also I had stopping during my ovulation. Never happened before either.
