Need toddler sleep advice badly please

It’s been about three weeks into night weaning my 18 month old (still nursing on demand during the day). I night weaned her because I thought perhaps she might sleep better (we were REALLY struggling with the whole sleep thing). Well I think I’ve just switched from one crutch to another because now she needs to be held (or at bare minimum laying on top of me) in order to fall asleep. And that’s just the first hurdle. THEN I have to be an incredible ninja and set her down on her floor bed ever so carefully while still maintaining body contact. I move ever so carefully and slowly away one muscle at a time and many times she just wakes back up and we have to start the whole process all over. It can take 1-3 hours to be able to leave her room for each nighttime waking. It is exhausting and something has to change. Please give advice. I need sleep.

FYI: She generally wakes around 7am (roughly), sleeps for about 90 minutes after lunch, and goes to bed at 7:45pm. This schedule has been created by monitoring her own natural routines so I don’t suspect the schedule is the problem. We also have a solid bedtime routine.

* I can’t do tears BTW.
