Fibroids and pregnancy
This past weekend was pretty scary for me. Learning that my fibroids have grown bigger (5.11) cm and located posterior of my cervix, hence causing me tremendous pain. I was in pain since Friday morning and I didn't contact my OB until Saturday night because...I'm hard headed and have a high tolerance of pain. Anyway, she called the head person in charge and told me to go in to the ER. After I was situated they gave me lortab, still was in pain and that didn't work. Then they gave me a percocet and I was still in pain. They did an ultrasound and saw that my baby was fine and that the fibroids are most likely causing me the pain. I already knew that as this is my second time in this pain predicament in a month. Anyway, my OB just wanted to make sure there was no subchorionic bleeding. Thank God there wasn't. I was discharged about 4a.m Sunday morning and given a prescription for indocin. Monday morning my nurse called and said my OB wanted to see me Tuesday and examine me herself. (She had Delivery monday) So...the ultrasound results today were that I have two large fibroids that are a nonsense, and she would like to refer me to a specialist who specializes in high risk pregnancy. Good news is I'll have two doctors. My OB is super fantastic and I couldn't be more pleased with anyone else. We also discussed the fact that I wont be having a natural birth, and will be forced for a c section because of the location of the fibroids. Besides the pain and the bad news, my little blessing is alive and kicking. Going strong. Fibroids are something very serious, the pain was excruciating, but I'm not defeated and far more grateful for this life God had given. I'm eager to know the sex!!!! What do you guys think?
