Just removed Nexplanon!

I recently removed the Nexplanon implant on 11/27 & it was the best decision I’ve made! I felt as thought I did not have control of my own body since the install in 2014. By the way the implant is good for 3 years. Upon my appointment to extract the implant, I was informed that the BC expired a year ago which explained why I had heavy bleeding each cycle for the last 5 months.

Anywho my cycle is out of wack. I’m concerned about fertility since my boyfriend and I do not use contraceptives and now finding out that the BC had expired a year ago. Is it possible that the BC is still active after the three years and still in my system prior to the extraction of course?
