Labor soon!?

Question

Went into my 40 week appointment (39+6) not expecting to be dilated cause I’ve felt so good all week. BUT I am dilated to a 4! Soft and 50% effaced. She did a bit sweep and I’m lightly spotting. I’m a FTM so I don’t know what to expect. Anybody in similar position and when did labor start for you??

I’m miserable at 36+3.
I feel it’s too early, but I feel like I’m on day2 of my period without a period where I can’t do much of anything.
My belly hurts a bit after I sneeze.
My contractions/Braxton Hocks have been happening all day and minutes apart. The past few days they were painless, and today I just feel like my whole body is on day 2 of being on the rag (minus the Freddy Kruger pain and blood). Baby is still wiggling around.
I see my OB this Friday, so I figured I’d wait until then....
when did you guys go to get checked? 
I don’t want to over react if what I’m experiencing is still within norm...
But I read this and thought to pick your brains about it.

What is “lightly spotting”? 
I’m asking because I’m the same 39+6 and had a sweep today as well at 3pm. About 7:30 started with light cramping and some decent bloody discharge..had to put on a liner

39+3 here. Also 4cm 50% and had a sweep today! Crampy and some mild irregular contractions. Trying not to get my hopes up!
