IUD GONE WRONG

I don’t mean to make this post to scare anyone away from the IUD... BUT I JUST HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.

I decide a few weeks ago that I wanted an IUD. I did tons of research and asked friends who have an IUD... So I knew it was going to hurt to say the least. I have extremely painful periods so I figured I could handle it.

Today I went into planned parenthood to get it inserted.. the doctor took forever, but I always expect that. Finally she comes into the room and begins the procedure.. I feel cramps like I do while I’m on my period but a bit more intense... DEFINITELY did not feel good... Then she says that she can’t get the IUD in..... uhm WHAT?!?!?!? so she LEAVES the room and comes back 5 minutes later saying she can’t find the tool she needs and that she is going to try again..

all of the sudden I have the WORST pain i have ever felt in my abdomen and up my spine. Truly the sharpest pain I had ever experienced. She then announced that she still cannot get the IUD to fit..

at this point I feel like i have wasted 2 hours of my time and I also feel extremely violated... she asks me if I want to come back in a few days to try again, I obviously say UHM NO and ask to be prescribed birth control pills instead...

Worst experience of my life.
