Is being married before getting pregnant important?

This is just a question I’ve had, and since I don’t have Facebook or other social media I thought I’d throw it out there!

This is a very subjective question. To some it may be important but for others it wouldn’t be. It depends on everyone’s values.

Yes it’s important, children need a mother and a father role in their life. Even putting faith and morals aside, this is important to a well rounded and healthy upbringing.

I personally waited until I was married to have a child. It was important to me because of my upbringing. I also think that requiring a different level of a commitment from a man before you have his child is a good practice. This is assuming that you have a HEALTHY relationship in general. 
My Hubby and I are in a great space right now and have had very minimal issues during pregnancy, and I believe we are there because of the connection and commitment we shared before we decided to have a child together. I would never bring a child into this world without two happy, healthy, married parents in the household. Children need both parents. It’s our job to provide a stable, loving environment for them.

it's important to me and my husband. it was also important for us to not to live together before we were married also. But what matters most is what you think, not what others think.

To me it was, because I want us to all have the same last name. But everyone is different, it could be the least of your worries or at the top of your priorities.

Well this is my second child with my boyfriend. We’re not married and never plan to get married.

For me it was something I personally wanted. However I don’t judge people who are pregnant out of marriage. I feel like now in days it’s becoming more and more the norm to not be married. My hope is that the parents put their child first and don’t make them their bargaining chip. Even being married myself we still have conversations about what we will want to do in the future if we were to separate.

Depending on morals it could be. I was married for a couple years before having our first. I think more importantly though is that a couple has lived together for a while and been together long enough to be as strong as they can be as a couple going into getting pregnant and raising a baby, because it can be really hard some days. It really shouldn't be rushed into, unless it's a true accident. 
This isn't to say it doesn't work out for some of those couple who rush into it, but it's more likely to fall apart.
