Babyshowers bad

So I was telling my bf i wanted a baby shower since I'm due April n hes Mexican from Mexico so he believes in ojo idk how to explain it in English I think it's called the evil eye idk but he said that babyshowers give ojo to the baby n it would be bad for the baby. I've never heard of babyshowers being bad n I'm hispanic too 🤔🤔🤔
