I had one hell of a night!

My husband took me out to a “street food cinema” event for a date. Every thing was fine, a little cold out but nothing I couldn’t handle. I ate a carne asada taco and a hot cocoa. Seriously a normal evening. Then I wake up around midnight and my arms were so itchy I thought I was going to die! I got up to use the restroom and get better light.....MY WHOLE BODY covered head to toe in swollen hives and I was dizzy, felt like I couldn’t breathe properly and my throat hurt. I was freaking out! I called my OB who said I needed to go to the ER stat. So I did and they said I was having an anaphylactic allergic reaction to something. To what?! The doctor said sometimes pregnancy can cause the mother to be allergic to things otherwise were fine prior to being pregnant. I never knew! And he said our bodies are on overdrive to protect the fetus and my body went into overdrive. Lol oh boy did it! So after lots of IV Benadryl and steroids (they didn’t do the epipen, no studies on the effects on baby so I declined) I’m de swelling and feeling a bit better. So scary but I’m ok.

Has anyone dealt with this?! I want to hear!
