Santa perverted?

Let me start out by saying I'm NOT trashing people who want to lie to their kids about Santa. I simply want opinions. 
I was molested as a kid and as a result the idea of Santa was terrifying to me. Some fat old guy breaking into my house when I SHOULD feel safe sleeping just sounded like an easy pass for burglars. And you couldn't catch me sitting on any strangers lap for a picture. It all seemed so creepy to me. 
To this day I wonder if anybody else felt this way about Santa. I'm curious if this happens to a lot of victims of abuse or if I was extra paranoid. 
I know that for lots of kids its just exciting because they get presents and far be it from a child to turn down some toys. But it was never about the presents for me. I was so happy when I  was told he wasn't real. 
I'm just curious as to what other early victims of abuse thought. 🤗

I'm not a victim of abuse but I've thought of that. And I have never and will never allow my kids to sit on a stranger's lap. it freaks me out.

For some reason I believed in Santa but knew the dudes in the costumes at the mall weren’t really him so it made me uncomfortable thinking about having to sit on their laps. Thankfully my parents knew I didn’t like it but You’re point of view on it is interesting though, I felt like I was killing the Christmas spirit cause of how I felt.

i was brought up never to believe in santa, my father always told us as kids never to talk to strangers but one night a year he was going to let someone break in, and leave us gifts?? NOPE!! we always knew the truth as do my children, they do not say that to other kids at school tho 🤔🤔

I was a victim of abuse but my parents told me all about Santa and as a kid it was just exciting to get free gifts from a man and elves making presents. As I got older I knew it was my parents and as a mom I ask my kids do they want to take a picture with Santa. My kids facial expressions would always tell me “yes or no” without them having to say a word. I remember one time my daughter wanted to but the guy gave off this weird vibe and he was rushing me to put her in his lap and I refused so he yelled “Than her tf outta here then” I told my husband to take my daughter and I punched him square in his fucking face and kicked him in his balls. Truth me told it felt like he had a hard on and I just feel like some of these men are hidden pedifiles just looking to touch kids.

This post got me thinking. Maybe my sexual abuse as a child is an under lying reason why mascots freak me out? I mean you never know who is behind the big mask or what they are thinking.. who knows though.

I used to believe in Santa but I knew the ones in Santa’s grotto and stuff weren’t real cause there were loads of them and I never wanted to sit on his lap, it freaked me out a bit
