Should we put our son's name above his crib?

Will it look odd as he gets older? 
We're really on the fence with it so please help us decide! 
What are your opinions on child's name in his room? Is it cliche? Cute? Tacky?

As a kindergarten teacher I say YES! It is so crazy to me when 5 and 6 year olds walk in in the first day of kindergarten and cannot look at a table and say “that’s my name” or even match a first letter 😬 Put their name up in a normal-ish font and as they get older talk about the letters, spell together, etc.

I think it's cute, I was thinking about doing the same. But realistically I kinda just skipped over making the nursery cute because in my opinion there is really no point lol. Just a waste of money. Otherwise I don't see why not?

I think it’s cute when they are little. It’s a pretty cheap thing to do so if they grow out of it, just replace with something else.

We’re doing it and I think it’s something she’ll like at different stages in her life (it will probably make an appearance during high school or college days with graduations or being artsy with school spirit stuff), but I’m sure it may get repainted or redecorated somehow. I know the decor we have for the nursery will last until she’s at least 6 years old with how we chose to build the room (it’s not baby specific aside from the furniture, so it’s due to transition well). Either way, I see the name sign getting used again.
