Tips to finding heartbeat with stethoscope?

I’m a vet nurse and have tried to use my stethoscope a few times to find baby’s heartbeat but with no luck! Currently 27 weeks. Baby moving well and everything, just wanting to find it out of interest. Does anyone have any tips or has had any success? I managed to find my older daughters HB when I was pregnant with her but think it was a fluke 😂

My advice is to stop doing that. Your more than likely to pick up your own heartbeat or the placenta before baby or stress yourself out. Dr's actually advise against home doplers and I imagine a vet stethoscope is not advised either.

I personally wouldn’t recommend this, it’s a lot harder and causes more stress. I would get a doppler instead!

Do you know your baby’s current position? You would want to use the bell and try and aim for baby’s back.
